Magic Jack Phone Service

The Magic Jack phone service was invented by Dan Borislow. He had been a veteran of other phone companies. Then he had the idea to make it widely accessible for people to place unlimited calls through their Internet connection. Magic Jack is a VoIP telephone service. This means it uses your internet connection to make and receive calls. VoIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol. It saves you money by not having to pay a monthly bill. Magic Jack allows unlimited calling, both local and long distance. However, I would not recommend replacing your regular landline service with it. The main benefit of having one of these VoIP phones is to save money on your long distance calls. To get this service, it will cost you between $40-$50 for the first year. This includes the hardware you need to set it up plus a year’s worth of the service. After the first year it will only cost you another twenty dollars per year to make long distance calls. You can save a lot of money using Magic Jack to replace landline phone calls. Furthermore, after the first year, you will only have to pay about $20 a year to keep the service going. This works out to an astounding number of under $2 per month for unlimited calling. A couple of the many extra features included with this service are 411 and 911. The 411 is actually just a website that you can look up phone numbers on, you do not get connected to an operator. Magic Jack recommends that you also have a back-up way to call 911 for emergency. At times, this service does not have great sound quality. Well, neither do cell phones and look at every Tom, Dick and Harry using one constantly. But with Magic Jack you can at least try it with different phones and computers to try and improve your sound. Installation is easy. Just plug in the usb device into your computer’s usb port or into an external a/c powered usb hub and Magic Jack will do the rest. You will be able to make calls within a few minutes of opening your package. Now you can look forward to chatting with your friends as much as you want without dreading your phone bill at the end of the month.
