Alcatel-Lucent to Provide IP Telephony System for Etisalat – Yahoo! News UK
Alcatel-Lucent will install a secure, integrated communications system throughout Etisalat's offices, including voice communications, VoIP, LAN, and VPN. The system is based on the company's OmniPCX Enterprise IP telephony platform and My Instant Communicator Unified Communications application. It will also integrate the operator's network management platform, contact center, and 3,500 fax-server users.
The new system will support 10,000 IP users in a VoIP deployment over eight main sites, with 3,500 My Instant Communicator users to enable full integration of existing business applications, including complete support for the IBM Lotus Sametime 7.5 environment, accessible from a computer, IP phone, or PDA.
